Fields of Study @ Center for New Media
Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Center for New Media has grown to meet the future head-on with a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility as part of the Arcadia Commons Campus in downtown Kalamazoo.
Apply your imagination on a practical path through the electronic world at the Center for New Media.
All the programs at Center for New Media are designed to prepare you for the work within many creative industries like advertising, printing, publishing, web design, web development, telecommunications, computer support, sales, marketing, and multimedia production. However, we also prepare students to work in industries not commonly thought of as "new media." These include but aren't limited to manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences and biotech, insurance, and finance.
The Center for the New Media prepares its students to accept the challenges of a differentiated work environment where the lines between IT and HR are blurred. We prepare students to be part of the exploding interactive content market which includes anything from web development for your local State Farm office to 3D modeling and artificial intelligence game engines for EA Sports.
Our students learn in an environment where knowledge is applied and learning is active. Along the way, they gain valuable experience with project management, client relationships, and working in teams.
